Certificates and seals make a company's commitment to sustainability visible. They show that certain binding regulations are complied with on a voluntary basis. And they provide security. Not only for our customers, but also for us. Because certifications and seals of approval prove to us that we have set the right course for the future. And we'll keep at it. Because for us, the topic of sustainability is an ongoing process.
rose plastic AG has been certified according to the ISO 14001 environmental management system since 2011. In order to exchange ideas with other companies, we are also a long-standing member of the Bavarian Environmental Pact. We have also been awarded various product labels for our packaging. In the following, we go into more detail about our most important awards at rose plastic.
Certificates and Seals
Cradle to Cradle Certified®
This is a globally recognized measure of safer, more sustainable products made for the circular economy.
Brands, product designers and manufacturers worldwide rely on the Cradle to Cradle Certified® Product Standard. It is a transformative pathway for designing and making products with a positive impact on people as well as the planet. Thousands of products are Cradle to Cradle Certified®. A growing number of brands, organizations and standards also recognize Cradle to Cradle Certified® as a preferred product standard for responsible purchasing decisions.
Currently in its third iteration, the Cradle to Cradle Certified® Product Standard is rooted in the Cradle to Cradle Certified® design principles established by William McDonough and Dr. Michael Braungart. Standard requirements are developed through a stakeholder engagement process with input from technical experts, market leaders and the public. To receive certification, products are assessed for environmental and social performance across five critical sustainability categories: material health, material reuse, renewable energy and carbon management, water stewardship, and social fairness.
A product is assigned an achievement level (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum) for each category. A product’s lowest category achievement also represents its overall certification level. The standard encourages continuous improvement over time by awarding certification on the basis of ascending levels of achievement and requiring certification renewal every two years.
Blue Angel
The Blue Angel is the ecolabel of the federal government of Germany since 1978. The Blue Angel sets high standards for environmentally friendly product design and has proven itself over the past 40 years as a reliable guide for a more sustainable consumption. Under the motto "Good for me. Good for the environment." the German environmental label includes 20,000 products from 1,600 companies.
The Blue Angel guarantees that a product or service meets high standards when it comes to its environmental, health and performance characteristics. In the process, these products and services are always evaluated across their entire life cycle. Criteria are developed for each individual product group that must be fulfilled by those products and services awarded with the Blue Angel. And in order to reflect technological advances, the Federal Environmental Agency reviews these criteria every three to four years. This process requires companies to constantly improve the environmental friendliness of their products over time.
PRS Green Label 2021
rose plastic AG has also been awarded the “PRS Green Label” for our participation in the pallet pooling program run by the Dutch organization PRS, whose goal is to reduce CO2 emissions and packaging waste in the supply chain.
The wood used to produce the pallets is FSC or PEFC-certified. It thus meets the strictest ecological standards.
This certification is a recognition of the efforts of all active partners in the network (manufacturers, converters, distributors, suppliers, polymer storage and transport companies), all of whom are working together towards a closed-loop economy.
